Beta, baby!

I released Diversity for beta testing today. This is huge for me - this was the first big application I planned after the Cocoa Bootcamp at the Big Nerd Ranch. I had nothing but praise for Aaron Hillegass’ course after I took it, and the more I program in Cocoa, the more I think Aaron is an extraordinarily gifted teacher.

More can be done with Diversity, and I plan to do more with it, but it is time to say this is ready to send out. I’ve futzed and tweaked it enough; it’s time for some feedback. I’ve sent it to a few paleoecologist friends and their students, and I’ve also put it up on Hunt Mountain Software. I’d also like to get it out in the hands of ecologists and microbial biologists, both big users of Analytical Rarefaction. After a couple of months of beta testing (hopefully), I plan to release it for sale as my first commercial application.

Now on to setting up e-commerce and learning an entirely new set of skills!
